In 1994, the company developed the first horizontal flat & bent glass tempering technology equipment with proprietary intellectual property rights in China which broke the technology monopoly abroad of deep processing glass equipment manufacturing industry, ended our country’s history of not capable to manufacture horizontal tempering equipment, promoted the popularity of tempered glass in the country and promoted the development of architectural glass and automotive safety glass industry in the country. The product was inspected and evaluated by the State Bureau of Building Materials Industry and State Science and Technology Commission that various technical qualifications had reached an international advanced level and filled the gap in domestic horizontal roller-track flat & bent glass tempering technology equipment. In 1997, it was honored with the “State-level Torch Program Certification” awarded by State Science and Technology Commission. The company was identified as “Key High-tech Enterprises of National Torch Program” in 2004 and 2006. After the establishment of the company, it has always adhered to the business tenet of “Revitalize National Industry Based on High Technology”, focused on technological innovation, successively developed over 120 technologies and over 100 specifications of products, won four patents for inventions and 46 utility model patents and had another five patents being accepted.
Luoyang Northglass is accredited by Henan Science and Technology Department as a “high-tech company” and is honored as Luoyang municipal and Henan provincial “excellent private technology enterprise”. “Northglass tempering technology”, listed by State Science and Technology Commission as “state-level Torch Program item”, has acquired a number of national patents;
After the founding of North Glass, it has been working on the development and upgrades of glass tempering technology. In 2009, the company successfully developed the large size flat & bent glass tempering technology equipment and thus was able to produce large size arc-shaped tempered glass (height of 12.8 meters, arc length of 2.8 meters, the straight edge line accuracy higher than 1/10000, arc edge arc repeatability higher than 5/10000, power consumption down by 30%), pushing the level of glass tempering technology to a new level again.
In December 2007, North Glass successfully developed China’s first offline Low-E coated glass production equipment with independent intellectual property rights and the solar control coated glass and Low-E coated glass produced by this equipment was inspected by National Glass Quality Supervision and Inspection Center to be in line with national standards in all the technical qualifications. The company’s Low-E coated glass equipment with superior performance was searched by Shanghai Science and Technology Information Institute (country-level science novelty search and advisory unit) and proved to reach international advanced level. With its price around only half of the similar foreign imports, it is strongly alternative and competitive. With the acceleration of the industrialization process of the company’s Low-E coated glass technology equipment, it will significantly reduce the production cost of Low-E coated glass and promote the quick popularity of the new Low-E coated glass with remarkable energy-saving effect in China, making contribution to the implementation of energy-saving and emission-reduction policies in China.
In recent years, with the country’s policy support for the promotion of the development of new green energy industry, the photovoltaic industry has developed rapidly. Currently, thin film photovoltaic solar cells are the most potential products in the PV industry. As the former electrode and the necessary packaging material of thin film solar cells, PV TCO glass is having a high-speed growth of market demand. There are currently only two or three foreign equipment manufacturers capable of producing TCO coated glass, so in order to break the overseas technology monopoly on this kind of equipment, North Glass started to research the development of TCO coated glass equipment in 2009 and plans to complete the process testing of the TCO coated glass production line, which will be the first domestic commercial TCO coated glass production line with the expected price only half of similar foreign products. In future, with the successful trial and mass production of TCO coated glass equipment, it will not only greatly enhance the company’s profitability, but also greatly promote the development of domestic photovoltaic industry as a green energy industry.
North Glass is currently the largest research and manufacturing company of tempering equipment in China. The main products of the company include flat & bent glass tempering systems, LOW-E coating glass systems and some deep-processing glass products including insulated glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, LOW-E coated glass and other compound glass products processed by the combination of tempered glass or laminated glass, such as high strength safe tempered hollow glass and energy-saving Low-E coated insulated glass. The quality and technical level of the company’s main products are in the leading level among the domestic peers.
